Video freezing or blurry on calls?
- Upload matters most. Your video goes up. Many home connections have fast download but slow upload.
- Use a cable or sit closer to the Wi-Fi router. Walls and floors cut speed sharply.
- Pause big downloads, cloud backups and streaming on other devices during the call.
- High jitter (over 30 ms) makes audio choppy even when speed is fine. A cable usually fixes it.
- Turn off your camera for a moment if the call keeps freezing. It frees most of your upload.
This test measures the connection between you and turncamon.com. Results may differ from other speed tests that use servers closer to you.
Speed test questions
What internet speed do I need for Zoom?
For HD group video, about 3–4 Mbps download and 3 Mbps upload. One-to-one calls in standard quality work with around 1 Mbps each way.
Why is my video call laggy when my speed is fast?
High ping or jitter, Wi-Fi interference, or a busy computer can cause lag even with fast download speeds. Check jitter here and try a cable.
Is upload or download more important for video calls?
Both, but upload limits how good you look to others. Many connections have much less upload than download.
